During my time at Goldman Sachs, I experienced numerous firsts that amazed me. As a native New Yorker, I was surprised by the multitude of things I hadn't encountered until I started working in the Financial District. Additionally, I was given the responsibility of creating global experiences that many GS employees regularly encounter. Throughout my internship in 2021, I discovered a lot about myself and the kind of designer I aspire to be. I had the opportunity to learn from some of the industry's finest designers and connect with fascinating individuals who have left a lasting impression on me. Moreover, I had the privilege of designing new features and explorations that will greatly simplify the work of current employees.
While I'm unable to disclose specific details about my internship projects, I can confidently say that my time at GS taught me valuable lessons. I learned how to give and receive constructive feedback effectively, gained insights into the stock market and its influence on design, and honed my ability to design with these considerations in mind. I also developed an appreciation for learning from mistakes and was encouraged to think and design on a large scale for a wide-ranging audience. Working within the team, I acquired the skills to build collaborative relationships with developers and other product stakeholders.
